Helena, one of the students in Class 2.x at Johannesskolen's high school at Frederiksberg in Copenhagen, demonstrated at the school's Nordic Climate day event on 11. November the small Hydrogen vehicles that her class had been using in their climate activities in Physics.

Pupils from the nordic countries have submitted more than 250 solutions to the climate challenge

So yesterday - November 11th 2009 - was the big day - Nordic Climate Day! Schools in all Nordic countries participated in the exciting text message quiz. The quiz included 15 questions about climate change basics and we are eager to see the results.

As I am writing this blog solutions for the climate mission are also ticking in on the Nordic climate map. Until now groups of pupils have published more than 250 contributions on the map.

Click here to watch all the funny videos, PowerPoints and essays on climate change consequences, solutions and see what the future will be like according to the pupils.

On Nordic Climate day The Danish Minister of Education, Bertel Haarder, visited Johannesskolens Gymnasie, a high school in Frederiksberg near Copenhagen. Here the students explained Bertel Haarder about hydrogen fueled cars and solar power while a teacher explained how they cooperated with a school in Iceland under the Nordplus funding scheme exchanging knowledge on power supply and energy forms.

In the the video below Bertel Haarder and the students from Johannesskolens Gymnasie are focused on choosing the correct answers for the 15 questions in the Nordic Climate Day text message quiz.

Ea Eskildsen and Mikkel Bohm from The Danish Science Communication explains how the mobile phone on this day is a learning tool and they show how to activate the quiz with the mobile phone.

Turning the world upside down the students on Johannesskolens Gymnasie (high school) also reached for their mobile phones to participate in the quiz.

Normally they are not allowed to switch on their mobile phones in class but Nordic Climate Day really was an exception.
