'The Climate Quiz' from the COP15 website

By Anders Raun, Specialist Consultant at UNI-C - The Danish IT Centre for Education and Research - editor at the Teachers' COP15 website - http://teacherscop15.dk and http://klimanorden.org.

Nordic Climate Day is coming up this wednesday - you still have time to register your class in case you forgot. If you like using quizzes in your class, please read on.

The official COP15 website - http://en.cop15.dk/quiz (opens a new window) - runs a 5-week quiz on climate. Each week contains 10 questions and you have to register to take the quiz. Answers to many of the questions can be found in the Climate facts section on the COP15 website. After each week's quiz you will receive a status on correct or wrong answers and you see a link where you can read more on the specific issue on the COP15 website.

The Climate facts section also contains a Climate basics section. The articles are easy to read and can be used directly in a classroom disussion supplemented by the 5-week quiz.

A proportion of the questions are related to Denmark so while you're at it you could use Denmark as a case for discussions on CO2-neutral societies. To support a class discussion you could look into our lesson plan on Samsø's power supply, Samsø's private energy supply or COP 15 – The political dimension, Climate in the media.

You will of course find many other online resources on climate in the Nordic countries on the website for Nordic Climate Day.
